Love with confidence
Meeting someone new should feel thrilling, never worrying. Here’s how we look after you, and a few simple habits that help you look after yourself.
Our promises
- Every profile is reviewed by a person before other members can see it, and every photo is checked.
- Only real people. Every new member starts by confirming a mobile number, and we never create fake members, likes, messages or “online now” signals to sell memberships.
- Staff are always clearly labelled. Our team, including the concierge team, never poses as a member.
- Safety tools are free on every account: reporting, blocking, pausing your profile, photo verification and deleting your account.
- Children are protected. Photos of children aren’t allowed on profiles. You can still say you’re a parent using the optional family fields.
- Demo profiles stay separate. Fictional demonstration profiles live only in the labelled demo gallery and never appear among members.
- The homepage is opt-in. Members appear there only if they choose to, and only with their first name, age, city and main photo.
Before you meet
- Look for the ✓ Verified badge. It means our moderators matched a live selfie to that member’s photos.
- Take your time. Someone genuine will be glad to get to know you at your pace.
- Keep personal details such as your home address, workplace, children’s school and financial information to yourself until trust has been earned.
- A short video call before meeting is a lovely way to check that the chemistry, and the person, are real.
On the day
- Meet somewhere public and busy, like a café, a gallery or a restaurant, and arrange your own transport.
- Tell a friend where you’re going, who you’re meeting and when you expect to be home.
- Keep your phone charged, stay in control of your drink, and trust your instincts. It’s always fine to leave, and you never owe anyone an explanation.
Spotting a scam
Romance scammers are patient and persuasive. Be cautious if someone:
- asks for money, gift cards, cryptocurrency or “investment” help, however moving the story;
- declares strong feelings very quickly, or always has a reason they can’t meet or video call;
- wants to move the conversation to another app straight away;
- asks for intimate photos, or for codes sent to your phone.
Never send money to someone you haven’t met in person. If anything feels wrong, trust that feeling: tap Report, and we’ll take it from there.
If something goes wrong
Use Report on any profile to tell our team. Reporting also blocks the member, which ends any match and hides you from each other everywhere. You can block without reporting, too. For anything else, write to Contact details pending. A real person reads every report and message.
If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
Helpful organisations include the police, your local victim-support service and national fraud-reporting services (for example Action Fraud in the UK, the FTC in the US, the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre and Scamwatch in Australia).
